Frequently asked questions.

Everything patients ask us before scheduling. If your question isn't here, call us — happy to help.

Insurance & cost

  • We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Medicare. Note: we no longer accept Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO for Rheumatology. Cash-pay is also welcome — call us if you don't see your plan listed.
  • Cash-pay patients are welcome — in person at all 3 offices or via telehealth. New patient visits are $400 (20% off our $500 standard rate). Follow-up visits are $200 (20% off $250). Procedures and labs are billed separately.
  • Yes — we accept Medicare and some Medicare Advantage plans.
  • No. Before any procedure or test that isn't routine, we'll discuss what's covered and what isn't so you can decide ahead of time.

Appointments & scheduling

  • Our team will reach out shortly by email or phone to confirm your appointment time. Submissions sent outside of business hours will be reviewed the next business day.
  • We require at least 24 business hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations within 24 business hours or no-shows: $100 fee for new patient visits, $50 fee for return visits.
  • Yes — you can visit any of our 3 offices for follow-ups. Just let us know which one works best when scheduling.

Your visit

  • Yes. Telehealth visits are available for new and established patients in the states we're licensed in. For appointments that need a hands-on physical exam or in-office testing, your provider will recommend an in-person visit at one of our three South Florida offices.
  • Yes — we do joint injections and PRP injections in-office at all 3 locations. We don't do infusions in-house — if you need a medication by infusion (like biologics for RA), we'll refer you to an outside infusion facility.

About the practice

  • Yes. Both Dr. Adam Barron (rheumatology) and Dr. Renanit Barron (endocrinology) are board-certified with 20+ years of experience each.
  • Endocrinology focuses on hormones, thyroid, diabetes, and bone health. Rheumatology focuses on autoimmune rheumatologic conditions, arthritis, and joint pain. Some conditions (like osteoporosis) involve both — we collaborate when needed.

Privacy, records & prescriptions

  • Yes. We're HIPAA-compliant. The intake form only collects basic pre-screening info (name, contact, insurance carrier, reason for visit) — all encrypted in transit. Your full medical records are stored separately in our secure HIPAA-compliant EHR.
  • Sign a release form at your visit (or email or mail us the request form), and we'll send your records directly to that provider.
  • Call your pharmacy first — they can request the refill from us electronically. Otherwise, you can request it through our patient portal. For new medications, call our office directly.
